This is the Winning Competition Entry of the 1955 Prize of Rome by Ngo Viet Thu, one of Vietnam's most eminent architects of the 20th Century.
Ngo was born in Hue, Vietnam and went to architecture school at the Ecole National Superieure d' Architecture in Dalat, Vietnam. After one year there, Ngo transferred to Paris at the Ecole National Superieure des Beaux Arts focusing on architecture.

His selected works include the Presidential Palace (Unification Palace, the Central Market of Da Lat, the Cathedral of Bao Luc and the Master Plan of Hanoi after Year 2000.
Ngo was the winner of the Medal of Academy of France, Competition Achille Leclerc, Bigot Competition, Grand Prix de Rome and is a Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Architects.

Ngo passed away at his home in Ho Chi Minh City in 2000.
